The Lamb of God.
This was an illumination project that I'd designed somewhere back in winter or spring quarter '03, I believe. It was originally designed to be a maiolica style plate glaze painting with fired on gold luster, but I never got around to making the plate. Recently, I gave up thinking I'd actually get around to it and decided to just put it on canvas instead. So, here it is, on a circular canvas. The shell gold, BTW, in person is much more reflective and bright than it appears on screen. Such is the way of scanners.
Acrylics and non-precious shell gold. About 13 hours over almost 2 weeks.
12" diameter.
